Depending on the hair type I'd try Johnson Products.

Hi, i wud use a bit of olive oil, it's healthy too!

I have natural hair and I am looking for products that will give it moisture. Any ideas?

When I first went natural, my hair was SSOOO dry, and I couldn't figure out what to use to fix it....but I've found that KeraCare has a GREAT leave-in conditioner to soften and moisturize...Also, this may or may not work, but I've found that Garnier Fructis moistruizing or fortifying shampoo and conditioner work fairly well on my hair...and I have VERY thick, VERY coarse hair...just a suggestion...

Suggest a natural hair straightening method?

Hair rebonding or Japanese Oil massage. My sister gets it once every 6 months. and it is really straight and all natural. I dont know exactly how they do it, but it works. Its what most celebrities do. Try

wikipedia-ing it.

Suggest a natural hair straightening method?

Umm you can blow dry it straight after you get out of the shower

Suggest a natural hair straightening method?

If you want to get it chemically done, they have japanese hair straightening...

But for something at home:

This is what I do but I have a more expensive hair straightner so I don't have to do as much.

*For a straightening gel, I use Alberto Vo5 "make it straight"

*I also use at the same time some stuff i got with my hair straghtener.

Both of these products you use when you are blowdrying your hair straight (in sections)

Then followup with your straightener (sections too)

Suggest a natural hair straightening method?

I'm pretty sure they have products that'll straighten it a little bit. Depends on how curly your hair is.

If you go to your local Sally's or some other type of salon, they can help you out, but there's always going to be a chemical in your hair if you want to change it's natural flow.

Brazilian Hair straightening.....

Its much better than any other....

and is not as damaging....its new....and not very many places yet....but check the website....

www.brazilianhairstraightening.com

According to the research I have done on this....it is not the same ( at all) as all the rest.....japanese straightening is really just the same as prior methods just a different package!

Brazilian is a complete different chemical.....

I have not found exactly what they are but a hair stylist I know of and respect in New York ( mark garrison) is a big backer of this method......he has told me it is NOT the same as anything else....the only thing that worries me is that its base is formaldehyde......but there is no legal restrictions against formaldehyde....so............??? Its about 1/2 the price as japanese....still its at least $150. but the other is at least $250.............but I have seen many before and afters and have spoken to many that have had the treatment.....'

I would reccomend it....although it must be done by someone who has been certified by the owners of the company, so ask for a certification before you get it done...

In Kerala (India), we use Neelabringadi Oil, which I found working well. Wherever you are in the world, you can find some Keralites - ask them.

Indian herbs does wonders in hair growth. You may not believe that I had hair upto my ears only but now it is upto my hip - that too thick and shiny. The secrect is a mixture of herbs ground and boiled in coconut oil, applied once a week , left for an hour and washed with shampoo and conditioned. Along with it drink plenty of water and eat plenty of green leafy vegetables and dates.

Here's what you gotta do:

1. Get a vitamin E capsule (most of them comes in gel capsule form that has a liquid inside. Any brand will do.)

2. Get a needle and pop the capsule.

3. Now get your shampoo bottle and put the liquid vitamin E inside the bottle.

4. Mix the bottle.

5. Use your shampoo.

You'll notice that your hair will grow faster compared before. Trust me, this works. :) I also do this myself. :)

If you have virgin coconut oil at home, you can use this as well. Put it on hair and leave it for at least 30 minutes (You can do this at least 3x a day). Then rinse it off using your shampoo. The VCO can act as your hair lengthener and as your conditioner. :) Goodluck! :) (Refer to my avatar to see how well VCO/Vitamin E works =P)

Beware of the many lotions and potions that many will try to sell you as a hair loss treatment. The FDA currently has only approved two non surgical treatments for hair loss - Propecia and Rogaine (for men and women). Propecia is a once daily pill that can only be used by men. It can be very effective in stopping or reversing hair loss and requires a doctor's prescription.

Rogaine can be purchased over the counter and is also available in generic form. It is applied topically to the balding areas twice a day. It is generally considered to not be as effective as propecia.

What are best products do you use when flat ironing natural black nappy hair?

My hair is natural and thick. i have just grown out a texturizer and do not want a relaxer. What inexpensive flat iron works best? And what products makes your hair smooth and reduces amount of frizz throughout the day?

What are best products do you use when flat ironing natural black nappy hair?

I currently have natural black kinky hair, and I bought an 'Andis Ceramic Flat Iron' from Walmart for about 15.00 dollars, and it works sooo good ! I love it !

I was scared to used the higher heat settings, but I ended up buying a heat protectant to protect my hair, this step is very important, and don't use too much, because it will flake.

So after you apply the heat protectant, you can turn the Andis flat iron up high, and it will not burn or damage your hair, and it gets really straight and smooth.

You can tell if your hair is damaged, because after you wash or wet your hair, you hair should curl back up, but if your hair is damaged, the ends will remain straight, this happened to me, when I flat ironed my hair without using the heat protector straighten polish, this comes in a little clear bottle, with a pink top.

also be sure to buy a ceramic curling iron, only use ceramic products, they are better for your hair.

What are best products do you use when flat ironing natural black nappy hair?

Thanks for the info 2teens2todds I too have natural black hair and I was wondering why my hair would not curl back up when I washed it. So what do I do since my hair is damaged? Do I have to cut of the damaged part and start over. Report It

What are best products do you use when flat ironing natural black nappy hair?

You want to use a light oil, something like IC or Cantu, those are both really good at reducing frizz. Apply before you blow dry, and again after you flat iron. They provide shine and control without weighing the hair down. As for the flat iron, take it from someone who has tried almost everything on the market you get what you pay for. I have tons of flat irons that I've paid 20-40 dollars for that work great initially, and after a while they dont get the job done. I went out and purchased the Chi, it's like $120 but it works I have really curly, frizzy hair, and I dont get perms and my hair gets silky straight with this iron. Hope this helps...

What are best products do you use when flat ironing natural black nappy hair?

i bought this hair gloss spray from lusters that works on every type of black hair. you can spray it in or gloss your hair after you iron it. either way it softens your hair and keeps up the style. TRY IT OUT!!!!!!

What are best products do you use when flat ironing natural black nappy hair?

The type of shampoo and conditioner you use will make a big difference in how your hair turns out when you are flat ironing it. Make sure you use products that do not dry your hair out and that really condition it. Avoid shampoos that contain harsh detergents like sodium lauryl sulfate and ammonium lauryl sulfate. To get smooth hair I recommend Northwest Scents natural hair care products. The products are very moisturizing and conditioning. Also, don't skimp on a flat iron. For best results use one of the higher quality tourlamine-ceramic flat irons that have an adjustable temperature (solia, sedu, chi). You want to be able to control the temperature so that you do not apply too much heat to your hair. Some heat is good, too much heat will burn your hair out. I didn't get good results with a flat iron until I switched from an inexpensive one to a temperature controlled solia.

Do hair weaves do more bad then good for your natural hair.Euorpean hair in particular?

Yes it does, it harms your hair a lot. It gives you split ends and pulls out hair at the roots. It is quite harmful, especially to European hair. It also slows down the speed your hair grows due to the amount of hair it pulls out in the process. Hope this helps you. xx

Do hair weaves do more bad then good for your natural hair.Euorpean hair in particular?

Ive been told that it rips and tares at your hair, but to be fair you can always get a trim after you take them out...
