I have natural hair and I am looking for products that will give it moisture. Any ideas?

I use a small dab of baby oil on mine.

I have natural hair and I am looking for products that will give it moisture. Any ideas?

Depending on the hair type I'd try Johnson Products.

Hi, i wud use a bit of olive oil, it's healthy too!

I have natural hair and I am looking for products that will give it moisture. Any ideas?

When I first went natural, my hair was SSOOO dry, and I couldn't figure out what to use to fix it....but I've found that KeraCare has a GREAT leave-in conditioner to soften and moisturize...Also, this may or may not work, but I've found that Garnier Fructis moistruizing or fortifying shampoo and conditioner work fairly well on my hair...and I have VERY thick, VERY coarse hair...just a suggestion...

Suggest a natural hair straightening method?

Hair rebonding or Japanese Oil massage. My sister gets it once every 6 months. and it is really straight and all natural. I dont know exactly how they do it, but it works. Its what most celebrities do. Try

wikipedia-ing it.

Suggest a natural hair straightening method?

Umm you can blow dry it straight after you get out of the shower

Suggest a natural hair straightening method?

If you want to get it chemically done, they have japanese hair straightening...

But for something at home:

This is what I do but I have a more expensive hair straightner so I don't have to do as much.

*For a straightening gel, I use Alberto Vo5 "make it straight"

*I also use at the same time some stuff i got with my hair straghtener.

Both of these products you use when you are blowdrying your hair straight (in sections)

Then followup with your straightener (sections too)

Suggest a natural hair straightening method?

I'm pretty sure they have products that'll straighten it a little bit. Depends on how curly your hair is.

If you go to your local Sally's or some other type of salon, they can help you out, but there's always going to be a chemical in your hair if you want to change it's natural flow.

Suggest a natural hair straightening method?

Brazilian Hair straightening.....

Its much better than any other....

and is not as damaging....its new....and not very many places yet....but check the website....

www.brazilianhairstraightening.com

According to the research I have done on this....it is not the same ( at all) as all the rest.....japanese straightening is really just the same as prior methods just a different package!

Brazilian is a complete different chemical.....

I have not found exactly what they are but a hair stylist I know of and respect in New York ( mark garrison) is a big backer of this method......he has told me it is NOT the same as anything else....the only thing that worries me is that its base is formaldehyde......but there is no legal restrictions against formaldehyde....so............??? Its about 1/2 the price as japanese....still its at least $150. but the other is at least $250.............but I have seen many before and afters and have spoken to many that have had the treatment.....'

I would reccomend it....although it must be done by someone who has been certified by the owners of the company, so ask for a certification before you get it done...

In Kerala (India), we use Neelabringadi Oil, which I found working well. Wherever you are in the world, you can find some Keralites - ask them.

Indian herbs does wonders in hair growth. You may not believe that I had hair upto my ears only but now it is upto my hip - that too thick and shiny. The secrect is a mixture of herbs ground and boiled in coconut oil, applied once a week , left for an hour and washed with shampoo and conditioned. Along with it drink plenty of water and eat plenty of green leafy vegetables and dates.

Has any natural hair loss or regrowth remedy worked for anyone. if so what is it?

Here's what you gotta do:

1. Get a vitamin E capsule (most of them comes in gel capsule form that has a liquid inside. Any brand will do.)

2. Get a needle and pop the capsule.

3. Now get your shampoo bottle and put the liquid vitamin E inside the bottle.

4. Mix the bottle.

5. Use your shampoo.

You'll notice that your hair will grow faster compared before. Trust me, this works. :) I also do this myself. :)

If you have virgin coconut oil at home, you can use this as well. Put it on hair and leave it for at least 30 minutes (You can do this at least 3x a day). Then rinse it off using your shampoo. The VCO can act as your hair lengthener and as your conditioner. :) Goodluck! :) (Refer to my avatar to see how well VCO/Vitamin E works =P)

Beware of the many lotions and potions that many will try to sell you as a hair loss treatment. The FDA currently has only approved two non surgical treatments for hair loss - Propecia and Rogaine (for men and women). Propecia is a once daily pill that can only be used by men. It can be very effective in stopping or reversing hair loss and requires a doctor's prescription.

Rogaine can be purchased over the counter and is also available in generic form. It is applied topically to the balding areas twice a day. It is generally considered to not be as effective as propecia.

What are best products do you use when flat ironing natural black nappy hair?

My hair is natural and thick. i have just grown out a texturizer and do not want a relaxer. What inexpensive flat iron works best? And what products makes your hair smooth and reduces amount of frizz throughout the day?

What are best products do you use when flat ironing natural black nappy hair?

I currently have natural black kinky hair, and I bought an 'Andis Ceramic Flat Iron' from Walmart for about 15.00 dollars, and it works sooo good ! I love it !

I was scared to used the higher heat settings, but I ended up buying a heat protectant to protect my hair, this step is very important, and don't use too much, because it will flake.

So after you apply the heat protectant, you can turn the Andis flat iron up high, and it will not burn or damage your hair, and it gets really straight and smooth.

You can tell if your hair is damaged, because after you wash or wet your hair, you hair should curl back up, but if your hair is damaged, the ends will remain straight, this happened to me, when I flat ironed my hair without using the heat protector straighten polish, this comes in a little clear bottle, with a pink top.

also be sure to buy a ceramic curling iron, only use ceramic products, they are better for your hair.

What are best products do you use when flat ironing natural black nappy hair?

Thanks for the info 2teens2todds I too have natural black hair and I was wondering why my hair would not curl back up when I washed it. So what do I do since my hair is damaged? Do I have to cut of the damaged part and start over. Report It

What are best products do you use when flat ironing natural black nappy hair?

You want to use a light oil, something like IC or Cantu, those are both really good at reducing frizz. Apply before you blow dry, and again after you flat iron. They provide shine and control without weighing the hair down. As for the flat iron, take it from someone who has tried almost everything on the market you get what you pay for. I have tons of flat irons that I've paid 20-40 dollars for that work great initially, and after a while they dont get the job done. I went out and purchased the Chi, it's like $120 but it works I have really curly, frizzy hair, and I dont get perms and my hair gets silky straight with this iron. Hope this helps...

What are best products do you use when flat ironing natural black nappy hair?

i bought this hair gloss spray from lusters that works on every type of black hair. you can spray it in or gloss your hair after you iron it. either way it softens your hair and keeps up the style. TRY IT OUT!!!!!!

What are best products do you use when flat ironing natural black nappy hair?

The type of shampoo and conditioner you use will make a big difference in how your hair turns out when you are flat ironing it. Make sure you use products that do not dry your hair out and that really condition it. Avoid shampoos that contain harsh detergents like sodium lauryl sulfate and ammonium lauryl sulfate. To get smooth hair I recommend Northwest Scents natural hair care products. The products are very moisturizing and conditioning. Also, don't skimp on a flat iron. For best results use one of the higher quality tourlamine-ceramic flat irons that have an adjustable temperature (solia, sedu, chi). You want to be able to control the temperature so that you do not apply too much heat to your hair. Some heat is good, too much heat will burn your hair out. I didn't get good results with a flat iron until I switched from an inexpensive one to a temperature controlled solia.

Do hair weaves do more bad then good for your natural hair.Euorpean hair in particular?

Yes it does, it harms your hair a lot. It gives you split ends and pulls out hair at the roots. It is quite harmful, especially to European hair. It also slows down the speed your hair grows due to the amount of hair it pulls out in the process. Hope this helps you. xx

Do hair weaves do more bad then good for your natural hair.Euorpean hair in particular?

Ive been told that it rips and tares at your hair, but to be fair you can always get a trim after you take them out...

What hair grease is really good for natural hair? (black females only)?

Dax and Pink Lotion are really good for natural hair...Imma black female so I know what your looking for

What hair grease is really good for natural hair? (black females only)?

I make my own "hair grease." I buy 100% shea butter, 100% mango butter, coconut oil, jojoba oil, cocoa butter, vitamin E and a touch of glycerin. I buy all these natural products from ebay (the more you buy at once, the more you save on shipping!). I soften the solid butters in the microwave and add the liquid ingredients afterwards. Once the concoction cools, you have a nice creamy base. My hair is so soft and never brittle and there is no greasy feel! Mineral oil and petroleum only coat the hair and do not moisturize. Oh, I am 100% natural (no relaxer here) and my hair is bra-strap length. Hope this helps. It is really worth the effort.

Oh, if you leave out the glycerin, you have a great body moisturizer as well. ;)

Will semi perm hair color wreck my natural hair color?

Does natural hair color affect your intelligence?

just tell me what i can research.. and some other stuff if possible.

Does natural hair color affect your intelligence?

No, hair has nothing to do with intelligence.

Does natural hair color affect your intelligence?

dduuuhhhh umm no stupid

Does natural hair color affect your intelligence?

What?? I believe some clarification is in order.

Does natural hair color affect your intelligence?

NO IT DOES NOT!!!!

Trust me, the term dumb blonde is not a real stereotype. One of my best friends would be a "dumb blonde", but she's brunette.

Does natural hair color affect your intelligence?

no, because the term dumb blond applies to my friend who has brown hair

Does natural hair color affect your intelligence?

I doubt it. Hair dyes have been found to cause cancer - black hair dye causes bladder cancer - and studies have been published about this, though you need to check out The New Scientist for details. Hair color is more a cultural thing - people are into the Barbie look and sales of bleach for the hair have always been high. You might like to investigate the popularity of different hair products in various countries as a cultural phenomenon.

Any ideas of how to get rid of dry hair the natural / healthy way?

Any ideas of how to get rid of dry hair the natural / healthy way?

Use conditioner everytime you take a shower (which should be at least every other day)

Any ideas of how to get rid of dry hair the natural / healthy way?

try olive oil or coconut oil

Any ideas of how to get rid of dry hair the natural / healthy way?

hmmm. haircut?

Any ideas of how to get rid of dry hair the natural / healthy way?

A good haircut works.

Any ideas of how to get rid of dry hair the natural / healthy way?

Shave your head

Any ideas of how to get rid of dry hair the natural / healthy way?

By only trimming it actually helps

Any ideas of how to get rid of dry hair the natural / healthy way?

The best thing to do to get rid of the dry hair that's 3 inches past your shoulders is to get a good trim. Nothing really takes care of split ends..it disguises them, but split ends that are dry really just need cut off.

Then if you want a natural conditioner, I'm sure any kind of oil, like olive, would be okay. But bear in mind, "unnatural" conditioners are a lot easier to use and you won't smell like a pizza.

Any ideas of how to get rid of dry hair the natural / healthy way?

Rub it nightly with llama manure, no kidding, you can find it at your higher end beauty parlors. Does wonders.

Any ideas of how to get rid of dry hair the natural / healthy way?

put grease in ur hair or let it come in natruallly wet hair for me looks sexy

Any ideas of how to get rid of dry hair the natural / healthy way?

mayonnaise, it works, put a cup of mayo on your head, and put a plastic cap on for bout an hour rinse in warm water.

Any ideas of how to get rid of dry hair the natural / healthy way?

Keep it trimmed and use flatirons or curling irons sparingly. I think olive oil would be great...also avocado.

Any ideas of how to get rid of dry hair the natural / healthy way?

I would suggest cutting the dry part off. Problem solved.

Any ideas of how to get rid of dry hair the natural / healthy way?

it prob could be burnt/dead, do you have split ends? I would say get a hair cut.

Any ideas of how to get rid of dry hair the natural / healthy way?

Try Parnevu Tea Tree Oil.

Any ideas of how to get rid of dry hair the natural / healthy way?

The best thing that i know of is that you trim your ends. Then to keep it looking that way. also use some coconut oil or grease.

Don't brush your hair too often,Then Wrap up your hair with at least a bandanna or something when you sleep.

Are there natural hair colors more likely to go gray than others?

I have heard that red heads gray early, but my sister is dark headed and she turned gray in her twenties.

Perhaps it has more to do with genetics then specific hair coloring.

Are there natural hair colors more likely to go gray than others?

No. Going grey is something that is inherited. You may think that dark hair goes grey most often, but this is only in appearance because the contrast between black or dark brown, and grey is so much more than the contrast between blonde and grey.

Are there natural hair colors more likely to go gray than others?

On the contrary, red hair is the most colorfast pigment, although it may change in age. I have a lot of red-haired relatives. My mother's auburn looks kind of muddy now, but it's not white. Her sister was strawberry blonde, now it looks pink. Her brother was flaming orange, now he looks blonde. But none of them are gray or white.

I always thought dark hair had the msot tendency to gray.

Natural Hair Ralaxer (Naturalaxer). Did anyone in UK ever used it?

If yes, where did you get it from? Does it fulfill it's promisses?

Natural Hair Ralaxer (Naturalaxer). Did anyone in UK ever used it?

I'm writing you because I'm interested in this one too. There was a product in the U.S. that was supposedly made of jungle vegetable extracts, but that was years ago and I haven't heard of anything since. Let me know if you get a positive answer to this one.

Does calif natural "hair" make your hair grow faster?

if not..then what will?

Does calif natural "hair" make your hair grow faster?

There's no faster way for your hair to grow, but there's way for it to be healthier for potential faster growth.

Start by getting to know your vitamins, go to your local vitamin store and purchase "Hair, Skin, %26amp; Nails" it contains all sorts of vitamins that help your body become healthier therefore faster growth..

Don't wash your hair everyday, the reason is you will be washing away essentials your hair needs in order to be healthy..

Drink lots of water at least 8 glasses

Oh and of course protein and veggies, nothing saturated or fatty

Avoid heating products, curlers, straighteners ETC.

Massage your scalp for 10 mins everyday, it will give your scalp easier blood-flow therefore healthier for faster growth

Run around, do sports, go to the club/dancing.. or whatever keep yourself healthy.. the healthier you are the faster your hair will have potential to grow..

keep us posted =) good luck!

Does calif natural "hair" make your hair grow faster?

I'm African American and I've been taking Biotin 600mcg from GNC for over ten years. My hair is almost down to my waist and grows really fast. The shortest I've cut it is ear length and it's usually back down to my shoulders within a few months. I love Biotin and can't live without it. It's also good for burning fat if you're into that. Warning: You won't grow a beard or mustache or anything because it's not a hormone, however make sure you have plenty of razors or waxing strips because it makes your leg hairs and underarm hairs grow back fast too.....but this doesn't bother me at all.

Natural hair conditioner question: is it ok to use canola oil?

I've only used olive iss any ok?

Natural hair conditioner question: is it ok to use canola oil?

hell no!

Natural hair conditioner question: is it ok to use canola oil?

maybe!

Natural hair conditioner question: is it ok to use canola oil?

Some people say mayonnaise is a good conditioner, but it's a mess to get out. I wouldn't use canola oil myself.

Natural hair conditioner question: is it ok to use canola oil?

I use approximately 1/2 to 3/4 cup vinegar diluted with about 1/2 cup water. I shampoo and rinse first then pour on the vinegar - let it sit about a minute and then rinse out the vinegar and then shampoo again and rinse very well so there is no odor of vinegar. This was even recommended to me by a beautician once, and I hadn't even told her that I was already doing it!! The vinegar also removes all the old shampoo, conditioner, hair spray, etc. build-up in the hair."

Natural hair conditioner question: is it ok to use canola oil?

i used conalo oil its just like any other oil.

Natural hair colour mosey-dark brown. Wanna have it coloured caramel with subtle highlights, how har

that be on my colour? I already have red in my hai (several shades) will I have to wait until it all grows out cos 'm looking and feeling pretty drab at the mo! Any tips for temp solutions while it's growing out?

Natural hair colour mosey-dark brown. Wanna have it coloured caramel with subtle highlights, how hard would?

You could use one of the temporary colors that are on the market, while your waiting for your hair to grow out. They last for about 3 to 4 weeks and will not damage your hair. Stay away from any color that has "golden" in the name, it will react badly with the red in your hair. Otherwise I would definitely advise you to go to a Color Specialist to get your hair colored because of the reds that you say are already in your hair. Red can be very tricky to color over and sometimes have horrible results if you don't know what your doing. Good luck!

Does anybody know a way for me to dye my hair with natural products?

I have medium brown hair and i want to dye my hair blonde. i dont want to use those harmful hairdyes that you buy at the store because they are damaging to your hair. so i want to know if there is a way to dye my hair with natural stuff, thanks =)

Does anybody know a way for me to dye my hair with natural products?

i work for an aveda support salon, which mean all we sell is aveda products. aveda is one of the healthiest products you can use on your hair because they are made our of 90% plant and flower extracts. unfortunately though, when you are going blonde, a little damage may occur, but if your hair is completely natural right now, we call it virgin hair, lol, it shouldn't experience too much damage. try an aveda salon.

OH YEAH do not use hemp or henna. it is a common misconception that these products are natural. they are not. henna is deisgned to color your hair red. you can't get it out of your hair. they have metallic compounds in them which was HORRIBLE for your hair. trust me. do not buy them. spend the money and go to a salon or i can guarantee you won't be satisfied.

Does anybody know a way for me to dye my hair with natural products?

You can try lemon, for blonde highlights, or you can try hemp powder. you can buy them from stores selling natural products, they're supposed to be natural and not harmful to your hair at all. Just google hemp hair color, you can even order on line.

Does anybody know a way for me to dye my hair with natural products?

henna

Does anybody know a way for me to dye my hair with natural products?

Its a misconception that hair color is bad for your hair. If you use professional bleach and/or color there are added nutrients. Hair color has come a long way from the dark ages. Lemon juice and henna will cause damage.

Henna is one of the worst things you can use on your hair. The only way to remove henna safely is to grow it out, you can not use any type of color remover, bleach or hair color over henna or you risk losing your hair. Lemon juice is highly acidic and can also cause damage. The best way is to use professional color.

Natural hair textures..?

im transitioning and ive noticed i have two completely different textures..the first one is extremely nappy lol like beady bead type and difficult to manage.. and the other is like tiny coil spirals that are cute and fun to play with cuz when i unravel them they go back to their springy shape...this texture is located in the middle and the front of my head..the nappy area is on the sides of my head and the nape of my neck

is it possible to just have one texture? or are their any products that enhance curl definition for my nappy areas?

thanks so much!

Natural hair textures..?

It's normal to have different textures of hair in different areas of your scalp. Some people may have "mostly" one or the other, but more than one is very common.

One good way to make it "match" better is to set it, by braiding, twisting, or rolling while damp then releasing when dry.

Moisturize the "nappier" areas more in order to bring out the natural coil more. These areas many never appear "curly," but bringing out your hair's natural beauty is largely a matter of moisture. Some people use entirely different products on different sections of their hair in order to accommodate the different textures.

Also, be sure to drink plenty of water in order to keep your hair hydrated from the inside out.

Good luck, Kaya

Natural hair textures..?

My hair is natural and I have about 3 different textures in it. Theres no way to get your hair all into one texture but there are ways to enhance your curls. Two ways that I know of are you can use Pantene Pro-V hydrating curls Shampoo and conditioner. I heard it works really well. Or you can use products called curlicious. Ive heard its really good. I plan on trying them in the future. Right now my hair is pretty short (about 4 inches) so its pretty curly on its own. but I do notice as it grows it gets bushier. So I havent tried any of th products yet.

Good luck on your natural Journey!!!

Natural hair textures..?

Go to long hair forum they have products by the person that use them and ideas on how to take care of your hair will doing the transitioning.

Suggest a natural hair pack for salon straightened hair please? can i use henna powder+egg as a pack

well first if your hair is not straightened by a perm and it has been done by a flat iron or something type of heat, do not use anything because it wont stay straightened, but if you want to condition your hair, I would not use henna unless your trying to color it, eggs with some oil, like olive oil or amla, and if you want add some honey, but on a shower cap for maybe 1 hour or more, or 30 mins, then wash out your hair, when I press my hair, I dont put anything on it because it will not be pressed any more. But I like using amla oil on my hair while its white then using a cap or eggs, but remember not to wash it out with hot water, I never did that but I heard about it

Suggest a natural hair pack for salon straightened hair please? can i use henna powder+egg as a pack ?

You can use "Loreal's Hot Straight". Or you can use "Dove Sleek and Straight". You can definately use Henna and egg. You can also add some hair oil Or the best thing is to use is mix henna and egg and fresh lemon juice. Its the best.

1:grind 4 ribs of celery,4 carrots,and 3 lemon(leave the rind on) until its mush

2:put it in a bowl and mix in the following, olive oil...2 tbs of salt..1 tbsp of suger....and a cup of bacon grease.

3:after mixxing all of that together beat two eggs mix with creamcheese and put into the frige overnight(do not add the egg and cheese to all of the other ingredents)

4.pull out the egg and cheese(after it has been sitting all night)

mix with other ingredents then bake all of it in the oven at 400 degrees for 1 hour..

5:pull out of oven (after it's done) let cool 20 mins then slather area of skin you want the hair to grow on with olive oil(until you have a glossy coat) then take the baked mixture and mix it with 4 cups of mayo and spread it over the area...

Try Jam, Extra Strength. It's a brown gel too, so it won't make you all flakey. It's excellent for braiding too, if you get that done.

I have natural hair and regular gels do not hold my hair and give me flakes.?

Try aloe vera gel.. It's alcohol free and doesn't flake and unlike some gels it can be used with your moisturizer and will hold just as well. Hope this helps. Peace.

You have any suggestions?

I have natural hair and i want to some natural hairstyles without braids?

my hair is naturally curly/wavy...you could scrunch it with some hard curl gel and then diffuse it...you dont have to diffuse it with the blow dryer if your hair isnt voluminous like mine. low side ponies are really cute, if your hair is long enough. there are hundreds of things you can do, just look through magazines till you find a style you like!

have fun with it

It depends on how long your natural hair is.. If it's short you can just wear it in a small afro and perhaps flat twist the front.. Double strand twists always look cute.

If its longer you can pull it into an afropuff.. Do a twistout by twisting it while wet then taking it down when dry.

You havn't given us alot of info on your hair, or mentioned your ethnicity so i'll assume you're african american with natural hair... right..

Highlighted hair or Natural hair ?

natural all the way! For the most part, most people's hair already have natural highlights in them anyway. Also, if a person is going to get highlights they have to remember how crumby they look in a couple of months when their hair grows out. Plus they need to make sure that they get someone that is really good at doing highlights because at times it looks like the hair is just streaked. So yea... natural all the way!

Highlighted hair or Natural hair ?

Mine is highlighted.....My hair is nuturally a dark chocolate brown w/blonde highlights....Yeah I'm Hot!

Highlighted hair or Natural hair ?

Highlighted. (without dark roots of course)

Highlighted hair or Natural hair ?

Highlights look tacky half the time. It depends on what colour your hair is and how light you want your highlights. Dark hair and blonde highlights are HIDEOUS!

Highlighted hair or Natural hair ?

natural all the time.

Highlighted hair or Natural hair ?

mine is natural, and GORGEOUS! i tried highlights, but they looked horrible. natural is the way to go if u hav a complexion like mine

Highlighted hair or Natural hair ?

Natural b-cuz if u change it people may like u b-cuz of what ur change rather than the real u

Highlighted hair or Natural hair ?

subtle highlights

Highlighted hair or Natural hair ?

highlights are cool...only if they don't look stupid.....

Highlighted hair or Natural hair ?

natural highlights is best! i have dirty blond hair with blond highlights and i am GORGEOUS! lol

Highlighted hair or Natural hair ?

highlighted, mine is light brown with blonde highlights. It does'nt look so washed out.

Highlighted hair or Natural hair ?

Highlighted hair is the best.I havent tried it before cause I'm trying to grow my hair long and healthy but someday I will. I sat in the train and some guys or girls sat in front of me and I was reading my book and I stopped reading and look at their hair.It stands out but the guys they look hot to handle. Its amazing how a hair colour does to your hair, like it changes your looks.

Highlighted hair or Natural hair ?

Right now, my hair is a really dark, dull blonde. But in the summer my hair gets lighter and blonde highlights show up. I don't do anything to it. The sucky thing is that it fades within a few weeks into school. :'-(

Highlighted hair or Natural hair ?

i think that natural looking hair looks GREAT!! but you can get it highlighted by a professional to make lighten it up and it'll still look natural. just dont get the streaks in chunks. then it just looks ugly.

There are two different types of hair (straight and curly) because there are two different types of hair follicles. Straight hair comes from one type of hair follicle and curly hair comes from a different type of hair follicle and there is not a thing we can do about it. I am so sorry, hun. Just love yourself and accept your beautiful curly hair!!!!

So they say:you can let a cow lick your bald spot..maybe where they got the term "cowlick"..

Do hair extensions ruin your natural hair?...and how long do you leave them in your hair?...?

No hair extensions do not ruin everyones hair in fact it helps some people hair grow, it all depends on how you treat and conditon your hair while you have the extensions in your hair. The maximum time i would recommend to keep hair extensions is 2 to 3 months. Trust me i know from experience i've had them in before, and my hair grew after leaving them in for 2 months. The best advice is to take care of your hair while you have the extensions.

Do hair extensions ruin your natural hair?...and how long do you leave them in your hair?...?

Yes. Until they fall out, taking YOUR hair with it!!

Do hair extensions ruin your natural hair?...and how long do you leave them in your hair?...?

They wont make your hair fall out but they will damage your hair, causing some more split ends, and maybe even dry out your hair. You can treat dry hair with conditioning treatments after you get the extentions out. Sewn in extentions damage your hair more then glued in extentions, because of the tight braids and stiching your hair has to go through when you sew them in. Glued are the safest way to go but they wont last as long and wont look as natural. The sewn in will last two to three months depending on how fast your hair grows, and how often you wash your hair. Glued in normaly lasts a month. Hopefully this will help you a little more :)

How can I dye my dark brown hair a natural blonde?

I have short dark brown hair and I'm not experienced with dying or colouring. I want it to be a natural blonde colour. Is that possible and how can I do it at home?

How can I dye my dark brown hair a natural blonde?

You can do it gradually, DO NOT do it at home because you could end up.. burning your hair, having it turn yellow...etc.

Go see a salon and ask them to gradually blonde your hair by adding a full head of foils gradually... they bleach it then add a toner to take out the yellow.

If you continuously add blonde foils to dark hair you will be a full natural looking blonde in about 6-8 months.

How can I dye my dark brown hair a natural blonde?

it is a 2 process coloring job, and if you have no expereince I suggest you go to a salon, but if you are determined to do it yourself, get a friend to help you because you need to cover all of your hair. you have to pre-lighten your hair, with a bleach. and then color it with a toner. you can get these items at a beauty supply store like sally's.

don't do this if your hair is permed or straightened, you need a pro. and If you highlight it it will be less dramatic than coloring your whole head.

How can I dye my dark brown hair a natural blonde?

LOL natural blonde means you were born with it. But if you want a natural-LOOKING blonde, visit a gooid stylist and be prepared to shell out.

How can I dye my dark brown hair a natural blonde?

I know that sounds stupid. but if you have the right face shape and body structure, black hair can look awsome. black is a natural color but also an awsome color for dying hair. black hair always stands out. don't die your hair red if its brown right now. I have noticed people I know dying there hair red, and there hair used to be brown. somehow it just doesn't fit them.

I want to dye my hair red. what is a natural looking color? i have brown hair now.?

I suggest that you try a temporary hair color first - I like Loreal Color Pulse - it's a mousse and it washes out in 8 to 10 shampoos, so even if you don't like it, it's gone. When you find a color that you love, then purchase a similar shade in a permanent dye.

Natural hair dye to turn hair balck, permenantly?

Hi again! This is what I answered in your similar question to this.

You can most likely get indigo shipped you from a good online company as it is kind of hard to find in local stores at this time. It has been picking up as a good natural alternative to chemicals and it will color your hair permanently to make black tones but you must use henna first to make sure the indigo clings to your hair well. This is the natural way to go :)

If you want it natural, use Henna

availabe in Lush in the uk in many towns, cities and online

Does sea salt water help bring out hair's natural texture?

I read in Glamour magazine to spray a little salt water in your hair to help bring out its natural texture.

Has anyone else heard of this or tried it?

if it works...

How much do you spray?

Do you spray it on wet hair or dry hair?

What is the salt/water ratio? (Do you measure it or just eyeball it?)

Thanks in advance :]

-Kerry

Does sea salt water help bring out hair's natural texture?

Yes it does! Only if your have some type of wave. It tends to not do much for perfectly stick straight hair. There is actually a product from the hairline Aquage called SeaSalt Texture Spray. You don't have to mix it at all, it is pre mixed in a spray bottle type. I believe it costs around $10. It is best to put it in wet hair, scrunch it with your hands and let air dry. You can put it on dry hair, but you would have to saturate pretty well. If you do this on dry hair, you will tend to waste it more than putting on damp (towel dried) hair. Hope this helps!! Have fun with it!

Does sea salt water help bring out hair's natural texture?

never heard of it but thats interessting ... :S

Does sea salt water help bring out hair's natural texture?

idk try it

Does sea salt water help bring out hair's natural texture?

1. Spray enough for it to wet the whole body of the hair. Then comb it.

2.Spray on dampened hair, not to much water on the hair already.

3.You can buy sea salt at the grocery store.

4. You should boil the salt water, so it mixes well, and then wait for it to cool to use.

Does sea salt water help bring out hair's natural texture?

No and I will not

Does sea salt water help bring out hair's natural texture?

yes it does. well, at least for me it does. it depends on what kind of hair you have. i have thick, wavy, curly hair and it works for me.

Does sea salt water help bring out hair's natural texture?

Sea salt, or any salt, will dry out hair. After swimming in the ocean, it is a good idea to rinse your hair with a mild vinegar and water mixture to remove the salt and restore the Ph balance, then apply conditioner.

Does sea salt water help bring out hair's natural texture?

I just got home from the Caribbean, and you bet the saltwater thing works. I have mildly curly (or extremely wavy!) hair, and I haven't had such great curls from any product in ages. Having curly hair, I'm always trying new things to try to get the best curl. The saltwater did it without any fuss. I'm going to search for that product as mentioned above.

What kind of hair color should I buy if to color my hair back to natural?

My hair is dark brown, and i have highlights that are golden brown. I don't want them any more so I want to buy hair color to make my hair the natural color again. Are there any products out there that will do a good job that anyone suggests?

Thanks for the help!

What kind of hair color should I buy if to color my hair back to natural?

If you are going to color over your whole head, then you need to get a color that is 1/2 shade lighter than your natural. The highlighted parts of your hair are porous and will absorb the color quickly. you don't want them to be too dark. Any product will do, all though I'm partial to Wella or Clairol. You can purchase those at any beauty supply store open to the public. Make sure that you mix it appropriately....Good Luck

Just go and buy the shade closest to your natural hair colour. Get it as close to the colour as you can so when it grows out, you dont have any roots showing.

i've no idea about dying your hair method but i have some on hair care, i would like to share with u...

use egg white after u shampoo your hair. after shampooing your hair, rinse off then apply egg white on hair n scalp, leave it on for 5-10mins and rinse off wit cold water then use ur conditional.

it works for me but u have to constantly do it... maybe once every 2-3days. do it for 3months n u will see the long lasting result. (the duration depends on how worse ur hair condition is currently)

only use the egg white n not the egg york. coz egg white has protein. depend on ur hair length, if urs is short, 1 will do, if long, maybe u will need 2.

eggs are cheaper alternative for hair care treatment.

do not try this method if u r allergic to eggs.

u can also try adding salt when shampooing your hair, it will prevent hair loss n ur hair will not turn white so fast...(tis method is more for the elderly but it is nv too early to do prevention) my mum is using tis method now and it works too. =)

I have black hair too and i put beet juice mixed with carrot juice in my hair and it gave it a very noticable red tint..the red was kinda dark tho,

if that doesnt work for you, get cranberry juice and soak your hair in it for ten minutes then wash it out...

oo i forgot to mention, with the beet juice mix, leave it in for an hour and then wash it out

How can i look after natural afro carribean hair?

Not a very good 1st answer !!! We used to have a hairdressers across the road but it closed when the whole area got redeveloped, anyway i would suggest going to your local Carribean hairdressers ask what to have done and ask plewnty of advice on looks and hairstyles .

How can i look after natural afro carribean hair?

A friend of mine had the same issue of trying to grow out her relaxer.

She put her hair in extensions [plaits] a month or so, then would take it out for a week to let it breath and to wash it, and sometimes trim it, then return it to extensions.

It does take a while but i guess that's a way to help the hair grow whilst not looking too childish.

I find the nicest way to do extensions is pick and drop, you can do more with it, and looks fresh for a long time.

Like in this picture:

How can i get the "natural curly" look out of my hair and get it straight without spending

My hair is natural curly and I hate it.I'd love for my hair to be straight. My hair always frizzes whenever it is dry,so i always wear it up (which makes me have a headache ).How can i make my hair straight w/out spending a whole grip of money.

How can i get the "natural curly" look out of my hair and get it straight without spending alot of money?

there is a gel that costs 3 bucks and it's called "curl up" by KMS and all you do is wash you hair and scrunch and fluff it till it dries, and at a local dollarstore there should be a "straightning serium" i perfer frizzies by john freeda

How can i get the "natural curly" look out of my hair and get it straight without spending alot of money?

buy a hair straitener. varies from $15-$40. buy ceramic ones. also with it, buy some anti frizz hair spray or creme.

How can i get the "natural curly" look out of my hair and get it straight without spending alot of money?

Ever heard of ceramic hair straighteners? Spend $100, but they work.

How can i get the "natural curly" look out of my hair and get it straight without spending alot of money?

buy a strightner

How can i get the "natural curly" look out of my hair and get it straight without spending alot of money?

You can get a straightening iron. The downside is you have to use it every time you want your hair straight. My hair is wavy and frizzy and this is what I do to get perfect, straight, shiny hair. You can also get your hair chemically relaxed and retextured, but this can be very expensive depending on how they do it.

How can i get the "natural curly" look out of my hair and get it straight without spending alot of money?

buy a ceramic hair straightner for like 15-20 bucks. i have been using it for years and my sister who has natural curly hair just started using it too. they reduce frizz and u can also buy some serum to go in ur hair before u start to keep it from drying out

How can i get the "natural curly" look out of my hair and get it straight without spending alot of money?

Well I have the same problem what I do is use a shampoo that is made for straight hair like garnier sleek and shine... blow dry it straight and use a flat iron afterwards be sure to use alot of oils and protectants.

How can i get the "natural curly" look out of my hair and get it straight without spending alot of money?

it would probably be a good idea to buy some sort of frizz ease product for your hair; either a shampoo or a serum. Buying a straightener works wonders!!! You can find inexpensive ones that work very well, but you do have to be careful.

How can i get the "natural curly" look out of my hair and get it straight without spending alot of money?

Ok...I can so feel your pain. I recently bought Solia hair straightener on folica.com. You can get one for like $78. The ceramic plates are awesome %26amp; the beauty is as soon as you wash your hair its back to normal. Also, after blowdrying add a little bit of Biosilk polisher to get that sleek look when pressing.

How can i get the "natural curly" look out of my hair and get it straight without spending alot of money?

Use a hair straightener

How can i get the "natural curly" look out of my hair and get it straight without spending alot of money?

Well, I have really curly natural hair and My hair gets the same way. I use biosilk at night, after Ive washed my hair and sleep w/ it in my hair, it always comes out really nice( not frizzy) another thing you could try is a ceramic straightner b/c that way you could still have your beautiful naturally curly hair but you can straighten it when you feel like it( if you get a straightner, ceramic is the best way to go because it doesnt damage your hair as much.Hope everything goes well for you!

How can i get the "natural curly" look out of my hair and get it straight without spending alot of money?

a straighter, anti frizz stuff, or a flat paddle brush and a blow dryer. Trying cutting a couple of inches off your hair and getting it layered, that will help to take some of the weight off!! Or try a home straightening kit.

What color hair would u rather have natural red or blonde and why?

tell me why. not dyede hair but natural

What color hair would u rather have natural red or blonde and why?

im already a natural redhead. i guess i like it cuz its different

What color hair would u rather have natural red or blonde and why?

I rather have natural red hair because i've always wanted to dye my hair red.

What color hair would u rather have natural red or blonde and why?

Neither. I like my hair brown, b/c I have natural highlights and I just love brown hair.

My hair is a a copper. I want to get to natural brown How can I do this????

I want my hair my natural color which is brown....

If I dye it ultra light ash blonde will it even out, instead of actually going ash "b/c I dont like it" and I definitly dont want to go black. So can someone who knows about hair dye help me???? please!

My hair is a a copper. I want to get to natural brown How can I do this????

copper hair? does it turn greenish if you leave it out in the atmosphere too long?

My hair is a a copper. I want to get to natural brown How can I do this????

When you say copper do you mean redish? Or, light brownish? Do you want dark brown? If then, then you should get a realllyy dark brown color, because it's always good to exaggerate whatever color you want. If you want a lighter brown, go for a medium to light blond.

My hair is a a copper. I want to get to natural brown How can I do this????

Generally, big brand hair dyes these days are good enough to completely change your hair colour to something near the colour shown on the box. Often they have a picture on the side of the box that will give you a better idea of the hair colour you'll become.

Dyeing your hair ash blonde will almost certainly result in it becoming ash blonde. Buy a colour that's as near to the shade you want instead.

If you're worried about damaging your hair, or don't want a permanent dye in case the result doesn't turn out to be what you wanted, there's lots of semi-permanent or temporary dyes for sale too. Some only last for a few shampoos, in case you just want a different look for a party!

My hair is a a copper. I want to get to natural brown How can I do this????

Ultra light ash blond would NOT be the color as this 'ultra' in the description will only make you.....lighter.....orange, orange / gold....you are not depositing enough depth into this copper to come up brown ....ultra blond is just that ....'ultra blond' ....very very light the ash is in the formula to take out golds and reds.....you would be better off with lightest brown or light brown....I can not see your hair but I would not use anything 'ultra light' you need some depth and ash will only give you a 'muddy' look
