Does sea salt water help bring out hair's natural texture?

I read in Glamour magazine to spray a little salt water in your hair to help bring out its natural texture.

Has anyone else heard of this or tried it?

if it works...

How much do you spray?

Do you spray it on wet hair or dry hair?

What is the salt/water ratio? (Do you measure it or just eyeball it?)

Thanks in advance :]

Yes it does! Only if your have some type of wave. It tends to not do much for perfectly stick straight hair. There is actually a product from the hairline Aquage called SeaSalt Texture Spray. You don't have to mix it at all, it is pre mixed in a spray bottle type. I believe it costs around $10. It is best to put it in wet hair, scrunch it with your hands and let air dry. You can put it on dry hair, but you would have to saturate pretty well. If you do this on dry hair, you will tend to waste it more than putting on damp (towel dried) hair. Hope this helps!! Have fun with it!

1. Spray enough for it to wet the whole body of the hair. Then comb it.

2.Spray on dampened hair, not to much water on the hair already.

3.You can buy sea salt at the grocery store.

4. You should boil the salt water, so it mixes well, and then wait for it to cool to use.

Sea salt, or any salt, will dry out hair. After swimming in the ocean, it is a good idea to rinse your hair with a mild vinegar and water mixture to remove the salt and restore the Ph balance, then apply conditioner.

I just got home from the Caribbean, and you bet the saltwater thing works. I have mildly curly (or extremely wavy!) hair, and I haven't had such great curls from any product in ages. Having curly hair, I'm always trying new things to try to get the best curl. The saltwater did it without any fuss. I'm going to search for that product as mentioned above.
