Why do you straighten your hair with a hot comb or relaxer? Is it to fit into society, scared to be yourself, don't how to take care of it, can't handle being diff, think only straight hair is beautiful???

i am not black...but i do think that their natural hair is awesome and its so cool!!! i know a black girl with that sort of hair and let me tell you...she looks hot the way she is.....

i also know a chinese girl who had curly hair and she straightened her hair to fit in because most chinese have straight black hair...now she looks awfulll....i'm not saying that straight hair is ugly...i'm simply saying that curly hair suited her better and she should have just embraced it instead

the problem is...in shampoo adverts...they always seem to show girls who have long straight hair....why dont they use ppl with curly hair instead...i mean curly hair is hot and its sexy and beautiful!!

by the way...i have curly hair and i wouldnt change it for the world!!

As a man I ask, "why are are ANY women scared of ANY of thier God given hair?" Head, leg, armpit, etc. etc. The answer is always "the culture you are in." But culture is only molded by people. You wanna change it then change it. I for one have never asked a woman of any rece to curl, straiten, dye, shave, wax, cut or anything. But women keep on doing it anyway and keep complaining that they have to do it. I challenge all women, If you don't want to do it, then stop!!! I won't complain. You'd be surprised how few men would.

The problem is that black many black women are told straight is beautiful a lot of us lack self esteem when it comes to our hair.It totook me years to go natural.And I tell my daughter natural is beautiful,but everything is ok in moderation you just have to love the hair that god gave you.

a lot of black women try to blend in with society and are afraid of their natural afro type hair , if you ask me they should be proud of it and exploit there uniqueness i hate being a copy of someone else

we straighten our hair because society has told us that it is pretty. and to not wear your hair natural. i think that all hair is beautiful. i am native American and African American so i have odd hair. if people would stop telling us that straight or relaxed or permed was the only pretty thing maybe more women would wear their hair natural!

we love differnt hair styles. we already have the lips and the bodies with the butts that everyone else wants. lots of us do wear natural styles but we can change our styles and we do.
