Girls of all races wear weaves. Some women can't get their hair to naturally grow past a certain length. If they are happy with themselves then thats all that should matter.

i think its cool. so versatile. u can change ur hair everyday. and its their own head, they can do what they want with it.

It's because african american hair does not grow like caucasian hair. it's not naturally straight, wavy, etc...

their hair is very course!!!! it doesn't really tie in a pony tail good unless you use a hot comb. not a flat iron, a hot comb. because their hair is so rough it does not work with a flat iron. A weave is because the want to use long hair, but since their hair isn't long and can't really grow at all they use whatever weave they want. Natural hair may be prettier but they dont really have a choice. Only if one of their parents is a caucasian then they would wear their hair natural.

All races have some form of weave or extensions they use.

As a black woman, I've never had a weave. I've had braids that used extensions but that's the extent of it. I am now 100% natural and I agree it is much prettier.

To the girl above me, neither of my parents is white but I have natural hair. You don't have to have white parents to wear your hair natural.

It is all personal preferance. What you may find asteticlly pleasing to the eye can be totally different for someone else. It is also a product of their environment.

The only weave I've ever used was for braid extensions and thats as far as Im ever going to take it. I like it both ways though, some women look good and some don't. Some get it for the right reasons and others do not. Self hatred, ashamed of their hair, and etc. At the end of the day it all boils down to the preferance of the individual.

i agree,but try telling them that.i have and i got "cussed"but the impression i get from most the ladies i know is that they just can,t be bothered to comb it.and you have to agree it is so easy to get the look they want instantly,while with "kinky" hair they have to be a little bit more individual %26amp; creative.it do'es make me laugh when after a week or so it starts to look bad and smell gross.if it done well it can look quite nice.bit tacky,but nice
